Outreach

Outreach

Central to the religious life of the school is the person of Jesus Christ who came among us ‘as one who serves’ (Luke 22.27). Our Catholic school is committed to reaching out to help those in need, through charitable outreach initiatives. All outreach activities connect to the person of Jesus Christ and to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Drawing on the Catholic Social Teaching of the Church, we have a deep commitment to supporting a range of charitable organisations, families and individuals in need.

St Michael's Catholic Primary School Meadowbank OutreachSt Michael’s Catholic Primary School Meadowbank is passionate about supporting those in need.

We have a close relationship with the St Vincent de Paul Society through our community’s involvement in Night Patrol, the Vinnies Winter and Christmas Appeals, and through our Spellathon from which half of the money raised is donated to a special Vinnies appeal, such as the NSW Drought Relief Appeal. Over the last two years our community has donated $21,000 to this appeal. We also have a close relationship with Caritas, through Project Compassion during Lent, and Catholic Mission, the Charitable Works Fund and the Catholic Education Foundation, and support these organisations through gold coin fundraising initiatives.

Closer to home, our parents support the ‘Meals for Mates Program’ by making meals which are distributed to support families within the school and parish at their time of need.
